Hey everyone,

It’s the time of the year to start planning our annual Yuki Matsuri tour in Hokkaido! The biggest snow festival in all of Japan is right there for you to grab it! For those not in the know, the Sapporo Snow festival is held annually and will celebrate this year it’s 63rd year of existance. You can see details here . On the menu for the trip: Giant snow scupltures, excellant Sapporo ramen, Ghengis Khan (all you can eat lamb) and beer at the famous Sapporo Bear Garden (possibly not included in the initial price), crazy snowboard stunts performances and much much more.

Please take note that this tentative schedule and details are subject to change as they are based on last year’s trip ( with a few modifications). Details of the event and any changes will be sent to you when we have exact details about the number of people coming and details from our travel agent.

1. The length of the trip is a 3 day trip (Fri 10-Sun 12). Please take note that you WILL have to take a nenkyu to leave on the Friday, please ask your supervisor as soon as possible about this.

2. We will leave on Thursday night on an overnight charter bus (just one) that will take us to Haneda to catch our flight. Last year the bus started in Hamamatsu and then made stops in Shizuoka and Fuji to pick up people along the way, so that`s what we`ll arrange again this year… The return trip back to Shiz will be on your own to give people a chance to head in to Tokyo while we are there if they wish…

3. The price will be somewhere between ¥60,000 and ¥70,000 (also based on last year) with the final price to be decided once we know exact numbers of attendees. This will include your bus to Haneda, plane ticket and hotel accomodation.

An initial deposit of ¥10,000 will have to be paid at a date the travel agent will decide, which I will ask to be after we get paid in November. (Via bank transfer to our AJET account)

What we need to know now is some tentative numbers of attendees to give the travel agent… So please RSVP as soon as you can so that we can do this… Please make sure you check with your school to see if they will let you take the nenkyuu for the Friday to come along!

We will set a deadline to register for this as the end of our mid-year conference in Kakegawa. Please take your time to think about it and feel free to ask any questions you might have.

This is a Shizuoka AJET event. As always, other people are welcome to join up.

Let’s get this snow on the road!! (see what I did just there? ^.^ )
